Adding a file (attachment ) to a post
This is a fairly straightforward process, the most difficult bit is remembering where your file is.

You can add all file types, for example
- all Microsoft office
- photos
- video
- audio – voice, music
in fact, if you can save it to your pc, you can attach it.
There is an important consideration here. In order to open a file save from a particular programme, you need to remember that the person downloading it, probably a student, must also have that programme, or they wont be able to view it.
To overcome this, you can change the file to a pdf – which can be read by anyone who has Acrobat Reader – this is free so makes this a universal file type.
There are free file converters, the best one is Zamzar
How to do it
- Underneath the editing bit of your post, there is another section with File, Tile, Description
- click on browse button
- find the file you want and double click or click to select and then open
- It will allow up to 3Mb – so pictures may need to made smaller (tip on this available)
- this will enter the path of where your file is in the File box
- click on Upload and the file is now attached to your post
- click your mouse in your post to choose a place where the attachment will be
- select Send to editor
- then save or publish your post
- to check it’s there, double click the attachment
- It will now download

This blog is very helpful since I just started an edublog. I have a question that I would love some help on. I’d like to set-up a way for people to subscribe to my blog via email. I’ve looked through the edublog forums to find something like an Idiots Guide on how to do this — from getting the Feedburner account to actually putting the subscription box on my blog. However, I can’t seem to find a post that would guide an “idiot” through the process. Is there any chance of you making a post on this questions?
Thanks.
Keeping track – using RSS feed
I have added this post and have made it at a level that I would understand – if you get stuck, just ask and I’ll try to add this into the instructions. Hopefully you won’t have to and RSS will be simplicity itself
