Adding a powerpoint slideshow to your posts

Published by Mike Temple at 4:58 pm under Powerpoint

At the moment, this is the closest I can get to showing PowerPoint presentation without having to download and save it. I will continue to look into this and see if there are any other ways of embedding PowerPoint directly into this type of post.  Before you start, check you have Flash Player 7 or above, or this won’t work.

  1. Go to Slideshare
  2. register an account — it is free
  3. click on the upload tab
  4. select your PowerPoint file
  5. upload it to Slideshare
  6. please note files are public — anyone can see them
  7. click on grab the URL for any slide
  8. copy the content of the box
  9. you may then follow one of two paths
  10. paste the link into your post
  11. or write the name of your PowerPoint file
  12. to make this into a link
  13. select the text
  14. click on the small chain logo in the menus above
  15. paste in the URL — the Web address you got from Slideshare
  16. click on update
  17. this link will now take viewers directly to your Slideshare where they can view the slides
  18. they do not need to download any files at all to do this
