In Post adverts

Published by Mike Temple at 10:10 pm under News

As you may have gathered, there are now adverts showing up in your posts, just when you thought your Edublogs site was completely free and school friendly.  At $3500 a month for hosting and bandwidth, I think James had to take some action, but not sure if this is the only way to go.

There are lots of views on this and if you’d like to take a look, go to the two forum areas

on ads

contentlink ads

and perhaps, you’d like to add your comment there or here

    $3500… per month :) Try $10K.

It’s not all about money though, it’s about sustainable business practices / directions / being able to offer a premium service too.

Have given you (well deserved) free supporter on this blog too.

Thanks for the update, James – $3500 was enough, I thought!
I do agree what you say about sustainability, support and the offer of a better platform – it would be difficult to see how you would be able to support all 220,000 blogs currently running in Edublogs.
I only raised it on this site in case people had not managed to notice, or, like me, suddenly spotted ads and wondered what was going on – hopefully helping to communicate the message and directing them to the forum to continue with the conversation.
I do hope it all works out for you as Edublogs has been my No. 1 choice for quite a while now.
Many thanks too for the supporter status for Edublogs Tutorials – that was a surprise to me – more storage space and no ads – only just noticed that in the last couple of days.
